Latest reading: Akira

The latest book I am reading is the Autobiography by Akira Kurosawa called Something like an Autobiography. The book is indeed brilliant and is a must for anyone who wants to direct a movie. He gives beautiful anecdotes about incidents when he was an assistant director. He talks about how he learnt from his Guru - Yamasan. He does not discuss anything post Roshomon because he was hurt the way the movie was treated inside Japan. It ends with various discourses on film making by Kurosawa including why he used three cameras and the importance of not lying down and reading a book!
